§yndicate Dragons Code of Ethics
To maintain a good cabal, Dragons must observe these rules.
1) Friendship – Friendship, simply defined, means saying
hello when you see fellow Dragons in gate of course, but most
importantly it means kindness to fellow Dragons. It also means
having a friendly attitude towards the game and its players
regardless of the other player’s cabal affiliation. This game
is a lot more fun when everyone enjoys playing the game in a
sportsmanlike manner and meeting their friends in Hero’s Gate.
You can see good examples of true friendship if you examine the
trading process. Newbies especially have a hard time with trading.
It is the duty of a Dragon to make sure they don’t rip off anyone
in a trade. It is also an act of friendship when trading with
newbies to assist them in the trading process by referring them
to a reputable and widely accepted trading point values page. A
good way to do this is to check a trading points page and refer
the player you’re trading with to the same page. Then they can
see that the trade is fair.
2) Trust – Trust is a quality an individual can not bestow upon
himself. It is a virtue a player earns by being true to their word.
Trust in this cabal means that when a Dragon says he is going donate
certain cards as prizes for an event, then he MUST uphold that
promise, as well as any other promise that he or she makes. Trust
also means making only truthful statements when truth would be
implied, specifically in the new member’s form. If you state that
you’re between 16 and 20 years old, then it is trusted that you
are in fact between 16 and 20 years old.
3) Honor - Honor can mean several things, but the most important part
of honor, in this cabal, is sportsmanship. A good example of this is
illustrated by not offering cards to try to bribe the other players
to do something that alters the outcome of the game. Do not beg for
a draw, no matter what the situation. Ask politely for a draw, and if
the other players says no, then leave it alone and either concede or
beat their butt.
4) Loyalty - Its a common rule in Sanctum that one person is in one
cabal at a time. Not all cabals have this rule; but it is a good rule
of thumb. The main reason for this §yndicate rule is we believe it is
pointless for a player to join any individual cabal if that player
believes that they can join ALL cabals at the same time. Another point
of loyalty deals with Sanctum players joining The §yndicate Guild and
leaving. Some of the best people in Sanctum are also PROUD members
of the §yndicate. If you keep leaving and wanting to return, you show
that you are NOT proud of the cabal and therefore are not entitled to
the benefits of being a Dragon. Free cards, good people to hang around
with, and a good place to learn the game are not given out to just
anyone. They are earned. These §yndicate guild benefits are our main
reason for having the "Join us by invite only" rule.
We expect ALL Dragons to abide by the UA at ALL times. Additionally,
as an honorable guild we insist upon no major cussing. Blurting out
damn once in a blue moon is not a big deal, but certainly refrain
from cussing on a daily basis; and under no circumstances should
anyone hear Dragons say the F word. Your know what that word is
so don’t send us an e-mail
asking.
These are the ideals of our cabal, The §yndicate Guild.
These Codes may change at any time. We will notify all Dragons if
and when the changes happen.
